New Delhi, Feb 7: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday, Feb 7, said that the number of left wing extremists incidents has increased and this is worrisome.
Addressing the Chief Ministers' internal security meeting, Singh said, "Even though there has been marked decline in terror incidents in 2008 and 2009 in Jammu Kashmir, infiltration levels have shown an increase."
"26/11 had made us painfully aware to improve our coastal security. Biometric identity card in coastal areas will be completed by Sept 2010," he said.
"The Centre and the states have to work together to fight this menace. And it must go hand in hand with the development in these areas," he added.
