Hyderabad, Feb 6: While the death toll in the Hyderabad building collapse has been put up to 13, all is not grim at the accident site as a man was pulled out alive from the debris of the under-construction building which caved in on Friday, Feb 5 evening.

Watchman Mallaiah was rescued early on Saturday, Feb 6 and shifted to hospital, informed Hyderabad District Collector Navin Mittal.

The rescue operations continue as police suspect that many more may be trapped under the ruins of the four-storey building in Hyderabad's Narayanguda area.

As of now, the accident has killed 13, including a two-year-old child and a four women. Six people were injured in the mishap. All the victims were construction workers. The government has announced compensation of Rs 2,00,000 to the families of the deceased.

The cause behind the accident has surfaced as officials found that the builder was illegally constructing additional floors on an old structure.

“We will take legal action against the builder," district collector said.

The government has also ordered a probe into the collapse.
