PCB chief Butt denies sleeping during Pak NA sports committee meeting

By Super Admin

Karachi, Feb.5 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ijaz Butt has rebuffed media reports which quoted Sindh Sports minister Dr Mohammad Ali Shah, as saying that he took a nap during the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Sports meeting.

Butt blamed Shah and other officials of maligning his image for personal gains.

"Regrettably, the outgoing Governing Board members for their vested interests and personal vendetta, are attempting to create confusion by spreading false, baseless and malicious news about PCB and its management thereby causing mischief," he said in a press release.

"Such malevolent behaviour is deplorable and condemnable as it's against the interest of cricket in Pakistan," The News quoted Butt, as saying.

Butt reportedly had a catnap during the meeting, which was called to discuss Pakistan's white wash in both the Test and one-day series against Australia, apart from other issues.

"Butt slept during the meeting even when he was being addressed by Jamshaid Dasti, the committee chairman," Shah had said. (ANI)
