Lahore, Feb.3 (ANI): Disappointed and annoyed with the national team's deplorable performance Down Under, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Operation Office (COO) Wasim Bari has called for giving a chance to junior players in order to save the country's cricket.

Bari said though he has no role in the selection matters, he would suggest giving chances to junior players in the forthcoming two-match T20 series to be held in the UAE on February 20 and 21.

Bari, who was also appointed as head of the six-member committee appointed to evaluate the national team's pathetic show in Australia, said it was time to take some serious action to prevent Pakistan cricket from further damage.

"The weaknesses and flaws of some of the national team players have surfaced clearly in Australia," The Dawn quoted Bari, as saying.

"It is not easy to replace the seniors but now it is time to take decisions on a fast-track to save cricket," he added.

The former wicket keeper also advised chief national selector Iqbal Qasim to take back his resignation in the larger interests of Pakistan cricket.

"We have to defend the World Twenty20 title in West Indies in April for which we have to field a strong team, and Iqbal has the ability to do the job in the best possible manner," Bari said. (ANI)
