Trend to wear undies outside sends nipple covers sales soaring in UK!

London, February 2 (ANI): The expanding trend by women to wear underwear as "outerwear" has skyrocketed sales in lingerie and nipple covers.

Female shoppers were said to be following in the footsteps of celebrities such as Lily Allen and Rihanna and displaying items such as lace bodysuits outside their clothing.

And in a bid to avoid too much skin show, they were shelling out on nipple covers, the sales of which have seen a 20 percent rise, according to the department store Selfridges.

"Underwear as outerwear isn't a new phenomenon, but this spring designers such as Stella and Christian Dior are taking it to another level," the Scotsman quoted Helen Attwood, Selfridges' head buyer for lingerie, as saying.

"Our customers are spending upwards of 250 pounds on sheer bodies, which they don't want to keep hidden under clothes.

"Today's 'if you've got it, flaunt it' generation is proving there is nothing like expensive lingerie to make a woman feel special," Attwood added. (ANI)
