Srinagar: Strike against boy's death cripples life
Srinagar, Feb 2: A strike in Srinagar and major towns of Kashmir valley on Tuesday, Feb 2, crippled normal life.
The strike called by Hurriyat Conference against the killing of a teenager by a teargas shell on Sunday, Jan 31.
According to police, shops and business establishments remained closed.
Police said, "Youths pelted stones at vehicles in Batmaloo, Maisuma, Bemina and Natipora in uptown and several other areas of old city."
16-year-old Wanik Farooq was killed Sunday evening, Jan 31, when he was hit on the head by a teargas shell in Rajouri Kadal district.
