Pak security forces capture strategic hilltop in Bajaur defeating Taliban
Islamabad, Feb.2 (ANI): Pakistani security forces dealt a major blow to the Tailban insurgents, as they have captured a strategically important hilltop in Khaza Sar and Damadola in the Mamond subdivision of Bajaur Agency following an intense battle with the extremists.
Armed forces backed by helicopter gunship and combat jets took control of the hilltop killing 14 extremists. Several militant hideouts were demolished while 27 militants were nabbed alive during raids in the different parts of the region.
According to sources, fighter jets pounded suspected hideouts in Damadola, Jani Shah and adjoining areas in Mamond subdivision, killing seven extremists.
Meanwhile, in Sewai region, security forces strengthened their position further destroying several militant hideouts in the area.
The region was once considered as Taliban's stronghold where the extremists had set up a parallel judicial system and numerous terror-training camps. (ANI)
