Hyderabad, Feb 2: Barely a week after the Supreme Court of India awarded death sentence in a kidnap and murder case yet another spine chilling incident of abduction and murder has surfaced in Andhra Pradesh.

Decomposed body of a 10-year-old girl, who was kidnapped in Vijayawada on Saturday, Jan 30, was found in a car shed near Guntur, the police said.

The girl, identified as Naga Vaishnavi, was the daughter of a businessman Palagani Prabhakara Rao. She was reportedly kidnapped by three men while she was on her way to school in a car.

While the abductors stabbed the driver to death, Rao's 12-year-old son, Sai Tejesh, managed to escape.

The girl is suspected to have been killed hours after the abduction and her body was thrown into a boiler. The police recovered only the skeleton of the child, said Vijayawada City Police Commissioner KV Rajendranarth.

Rao is into liquor, real estate and finance business and is a leader of a backward class organisation.

The father of the child suffered a cardiac arrest when he heard about what happened to his child. Rao passed away on Tuesday, Feb 2.

With the incident evoking shock and fear across the state, Andhra Pradesh chief minister K Rosaiah has vowed to bring the culprits to justice.
