Indian taxi driver stabbed to death in New Zealand
Auckland, Feb 1: The New Zealand police are on the look out for a 'frenzied' killer who stabbed an Indian taxi driver to death here on Sunday, Jan 31.
The 39-year-old driver identified as Hiren Mohini died after being stabbed repeatedly by a customer over taxi fare.
Medical examination on the victim confirmed that Mohini succumbed to the stab wound on his torso. Injury marks were also found on the Indian-origin man's neck and face.
After initial investigation, police termed the attack as a 'frenzied' one.
The police on Monday, Feb 1 said that a knife that may have been used in the killing of the taxi driver has been found at the crime scene.
The search for the killer has reportedly been stepped up.
The police are also looking at CCTV footage from the the central Sky City taxi stand, where the passenger was picked up.
