Melbourne, Jan 28: Four more incidents of violence against Indians in Australia has been reported on Thursday, Jan 28.
"On the eve of a visit by India's High Commissioner, there have been four more attacks on Indians in Brisbane," a Sky News report stated.
Out of the four separate incidents, three were targeted at cabbies, the report said adding, "one who told how he was punched and dragged from his taxi."
In another incident, a 23-year-old Indian pizza delivery boy was assaulted. The youth was allegedly thrashed with a cricket bat and robbed while making a delivery in Brisbane.
This comes ahead of the Indian High Commissioner Sujatha Singh's visit.
Singh is expected to arrive in Brisbane on Thursday, Jan 28 and meet community leaders. More importantly, the Commissioner will also be meeting the members of Queensland police to discuss the attacks targeting Indians down under.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Friday, Jan 28.
While over hundred incidents of alleged racist attacks against Indians in Australia came to light in 2009, these new assaults account for the tenth incident reported in Jan 2010 alone, say Indian media reports.
