Oz: Couple arrested for murder of Indian
Sydney, Jan 28: Australian police claims to have found a promising lead in connection with the murder of the Indian youth, whose burnt body was found in Dec 2009 beside Wilga Road, near Griffith.
On Thursday, Jan 28 morning, the police arrested a married couple from Sydney's Sans Souci area in connection with the alleged murder of 25-year-old Ranjodh Singh.
23-year-old man and his 20-year-old wife were arrested at around 11 am, the police said.
They have, however, not revealed the cause of death.
The Indian was reported missing two days before his body was found in a ditch by a passer by.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Singh joined a group of friends for pizza at Eagle Boys on the last night he was seen. He reportedly got into a fight at a birthday party he went to after the pizza at Eagle Boys.
There was friction because one of the group, the contractor, is thought to have owed a handful of pumpkin pickers, including Mr Singh, 9000 dollars, the media report said.
