Mohan Singh replaces Amar as SP general secy
New Delhi, Jan 27: Senior Samajwadi Party leader Mohan Singh took over as the new Samajwadi Party general secretary and spokesman on Wednesday, Jan 27.
Mohan Singh succeeds Amar Singh, who had resigned from all the party posts on Dec 6, 2009 due to differences with the party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's cousin Ram Gopal Yadav.
SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav, who made the announcement said that Vishambhar Prasad Nishad and Ramasare Kushwaha will take charge as general secretary in place of Amar Singh and Sanjay Dutt, who had resigned from the post in Dec 2009.
Senior party leader and Rajya Sabha member Brijbhushan Tiwari was appointed as SP"s National Vice-President in place of the Janeshwar Mishra who passed away last week.
The Kerala unit leader Joe Antony was also included into the party"s Parliamentary board.
