Manchester City will make history: Mancini

By Super Admin

London, Jan 27 (ANI): Manchetser City boss Roberto Mancini has said that his players are ready to make history tonight.

Mancini insists his men are bursting to break that hoodoo as they take a 2-1 lead to United in their Carling Cup semi-final.

"The players are excited because they have a chance to change the history of the club, which is the most important thing,' The Sun quoted him, as saying.

"After many years without a trophy we want to get to the final - and we have a good chance," Mancini said.

City will have 9,000 fans in the Old Trafford derby crowd for today's match. And Alex Ferguson believes the derby date will make sure their is no repeat of the anti-Glazer chants that have marked United's last two home games.

"The team is always the most important thing. We should never lose sight of that. Fans are entitled to voice their disapproval. But we don't want a divisive club," Ferguson said.

Meanwhile, Mancini called for supporters and players to behave tonight by quoting lyrics from a song by City fans Oasis.

He said: "Don't look back in anger! It's important we play calm. It's only a game, it's an important game but it's only a football match." (ANI)
