Injured Gerrard ready for a quick return

By Super Admin

London, Jan 24 (ANI): Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard is ready to make a quick return to action against Wolves on Tuesday, having recovered from a hamstring strain so that he can lead from the front to salvage the club's season.

Gerrard was back in training on Saturday, giving manager Rafa Benitez another lift in the race for fourth place.

If he does not feature at Molineux, the 29-year-old is certain to return against Bolton at Anfield next weekend, News of the World reports.

But Gerrard is still having to manage a groin problem that caused him problems earlier in the season.

He avoided surgery in November thanks to a cortisone jab, but he expects to need the same procedure once more before the season's end.

The paper reports that Gerrard has been warned he may have to repeat the process in March to ensure he suffers no pain for the climax of the Premier League campaign or the World Cup in the summer. (ANI)
