Indian taxi driver stabbed in Australia
Melbourne, Jan 21: Another Indian taxi driver was stabbed by a man masked in Melbourne last month, a media report said on Thursday, Jan 21.
According to The Age report, the assault took place at 1:50 am on Dec 9 in Collier Street, Brunswick, when the Indian taxi driver pulled up outside his fiancee's flat for his evening meal.
The report said that police initially believed that Ravinder Singh, who was viciously stabbed in the lung, was the victim of a road-rage incident.
Detective Sergeant Stuart Bailey interviewed Ravinder Singh after the attack.
Bailey said that they established that his car had been rammed. When he got out to remonstrate, the passenger of the other car pulled on a balaclava and demanded money from him.
He did not believe that the attack was racially motivated.
