Yousuf hoping to deliver better result in ODI's against Australia

By Super Admin

Brisbane, Jan.20 (ANI): Despite suffering a humiliating defeat in the Test series against Australia, Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf is hopeful of turning the tides against the world champions in the one-day series starting here from Friday (January 22).

"We are looking forward to the one-day series. Pakistan have some very good one-day players and I'm confident that we are going to do well in the series," Yousuf said.

Pakistan was thrashed 3-0 in the Test series by the kangaroos following which the visitors came under heavy fire from all quarters.

Yousuf said that with the return of experienced players like Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, his team would give the home side a tough time during the five match one-day series.

"Shahid Afridi will be joining us here soon. He is a very exciting player in one-day cricket. He has done very well during the last couple of years. His bowling, especially has really improved over the years. I'm really happy that Younis Khan is also coming back. He is an experienced player and will add stability to our batting for the one-day series," The News quoted Yousuf, as saying.

Yousuf said that the long and tiring tour is taking its toll on the players and affecting their on-field performance.

"Obviously it is hard to be away from home for three months. It is difficult, but we are professionals and we have to play and give our best each time we take the field," he said. (ANI)
