Six Taliban killed in US drone attack in North Waziristan

Islamabad, Jan.20 (ANI): At least six Taliban insurgents were killed in yet another US drone attack in North Waziristan's Dattakhel area on Tuesday evening.

According to sources, unmanned Predator aircrafts targeted a suspected militant hideout in Degan village, situated 35 kilometres west of Miranshah, North Waziristan's main town.

This was 12th such strike in the region since a suicide bomber targeted a CIA base in Afghanistan's Khost region, The Daily Times reported.

While Pakistan has raised objections over such strikes on a number of occasion, the Obama administration has made it clear that it would continue with its plan of targeting the extremists hiding inside Pakistan's territory along the Afghan border.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, recently, said that the missile strikes or any ground operations inside Pakistan would affect bilateral ties with the US.(ANI)
