New Delhi, Jan 20: External Affairs Minister SM Krishna has sought a report from Indian high commission in Australia after another Indian cabbie was assaulted in Melbourne.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Jan 20, Krishna said, "I have just heard the news. I have sought a report from the Indian High Commission."
On Saturday, Jan 16, a 25-year-old Indian taxi driver was assaulted by his passengers in Melbourne.
The incident was the fifth such attack on Indian cabbies within a week.
External Affairs Minister further said that the continuing attacks could "affect bilateral ties".
However, the Victorian police have maintained saying that the attacks on Indians were not racially motivated.
