New Delhi, Jan 19: According to latest report on Sohrabuddin encounter case, a former police officer said that top Gujarat CID officials are stalling the probe in the case.
According to CNN IBN report, retired police officer VL Solanki alleges that top CID officials failed to place his interim report before the Supreme Court.
Solanki also claims he had repeatedly asked for permission to question Tulsi Prajapati, a key witness to Sohrabuddin Sheikh's fake encounter.
Solanki alleges Prajapati, too, was killed in a staged encounter because top CID officials were afraid that he would testify against them.
"I had submitted six interim reports to my senior officials. Now it is up to them how they take the case further. I had put forward a request to interrogate Tulsi Prajapati who was in Udaipur jail then. It was denied," Solanki was quoted as saying.
Solanki's statement comes after the Supreme Court directed the CBI to probe into the case.
