Aus Open: Sania crashes out of singles event

Melbourne, Jan 19: Sania Mirza crashed out of the singles event of the Australian Open on Tuesday, Jan 19 in Melbourne.

The Indian ace was defeated in straight sets of 6-4, 6-2 by the French opponent and 27th seed Aravani Rezai.

It was the third time that Sania faced Aravani in an International tournament with the French player winning two of the three matches.

Now, Sania would look to do well in the women's doubles event where she has been seeded 10th along with her Spanish partner Virginia Ruano Pascual.
