Jabalpur, Jan 19: While talking to a group of students here, Congress party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi admitted that coming from a family of politicians is a big help if someone wants to enter Indian politics.
"There are three-four ways of entering politics. First, if one has money and power. Second, through family connections. I am an example of that. Third, if one knows somebody in politics. And fourth, by working hard for the people," is quoted as saying in media reports Rahul Gandhi.
Addressing students of Saint Aloysius College on Monday, Jan 18, Mr Gandhi invited students to enter politics.
However, 39-year-old MP's admission comes as no surprise to India as 'family politics' dominates the democratic country.
Rahul Gandhi belongs to the most prominent political family of India, the Nehru-Gandhi family.
First amongst 2 children, Rahul Gandhi is the son of Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India and Sonia Gandhi, the current Congress President.
Former Prime Minister and the 'Iron Lady' Indira Gandhi is Rahul Gandhi's grandmother.
