London, January 17 (ANI): Prince William will reportedly pay a secret visit to see the royal carriage expected to be used on his wedding day after he arrives in Sydney from New Zealand.
The second in line to the British throne will witness the new State Coach Britannia, a golden, diamond-studded coach, hand-built by Aussie Jim Frecklington at his Sydney workshop.
The carriage, decorated with 24 diamonds, 130 sapphires and more than 400 books of gold leaf, was said to be nearing its final look for the day when it will carry the 27-year-old royal and his girlfriend Kate Middleton on their wedding day."William has a few hours clear of engagements while he's in Sydney and he wants to pay his respects to Mr Frecklington. But he wants to do it privately," the Daily star quoted a royal aide as saying.
The aide added: "He's looking forward to trying it out. Mr Frecklington's work is well known to the Royal Family. It should be shipped to Britain this spring, so it will get here in plenty of time for the prince's wedding." (ANI)
