London, Jan 17(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said he is excited about the potential of new striker Mame Biram Diouf.
The Senegalese striker got off the mark on his Old Trafford debut when heading a late goal in the 3-0 win against Burnley on Saturday.
"Diouf has a lot of attributes, he is very good in the air. We are excited about him," News of The World quoted Ferguson, as saying.
"We have a big programme coming up and we wanted to watch Diouf and Michael Owen together," he added. erguson further said that Burnley could have had a better scoreline had they managed to net some of the chances to pile the pressure on them.
"It was a funny game. They had chances, we had chances and they missed them. They had three breakaways and without the keeper it could have been embarrassing. It was incredible. We were a wee bit nervous, a wee bit anxious about our game. I just felt we would score - the question was when. The first half was anxious, the second we were a lot better," Ferguson said."We need that first goal to break teams open at Old Trafford. They set up at Old Trafford to stop us. The scoreline is a bit unfair on them," he added. (ANI)
