London, Jan. 17 (ANI): Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has dismissed reports about a midweek bust-up with club skipper Steven Gerrard.
The Reds skipper failed to reappear for the second half of the embarrassing FA Cup exit to Reading after playing a key role in giving his side the lead.
The England star felt his hamstring and has since been ruled out for at least a fortnight.
Speculation on Merseyside hinted that relations between the inspirational midfielder and his manager were becoming strained.
However, under-pressure Benitez attempted to set the record straight after the draw at Stoke.
"There was nothing. Everything is fine. Gerrard was here today," News of the World quoted Benitez, as saying.
The Liverpool icon was in the stands to see his side let in a late equaliser by Robert Huth to leave the Britannia Stadium with a point.
Gerrard will still be missing when Tottenham travel to Anfield in midweek for a crunch fixture in the battle for Champions League slots. (ANI)
