London, Jan.15 (ANI): Harry Redknapp has been charged with 40,000 pounds worth of tax evasion.
Detectives booked the Tottenham manager after an exhaustive two-year probe into football corruption.
His solicitor Ian Burton said Harry, who has always denied wrongdoing, is "confident of a successful outcome" to any court case. Pals said he was "surprised and disappointed".
He is accused of placing two job payments totalling 183,000 pounds in an offshore account to avoid stumping up tax and national insurance.
The 62-year-old boss is said to have been paid the money by former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric while coaching the club.
The now Leicester City chief, 71, was also charged with tax evasion earlier this week. The pair will appear in the dock together early next month to face charges of cheating the public revenue. (ANI)
