London, Jan 15: Three men were arrested by the British police on Wednesday, Jan 13, in connection with the murder of Sukhwinder Singh, the Indian who was stabbed to death while trying to help a young woman from being robbed in London.
Police are of the opinion that before being fatally stabbed in the nearby street, Singh managed to grabbed one of the suspects.
According to the Metropolitan Police spokesman, in-charge of London and its suburbs, the murder involved more than two suspects.
Sukhwinder's murder has led to a debate in Britain over the extend of public intervention in stopping criminal activities.
31-year Sukhwinder, hailing from Ludhiana, was stabbed in the heart when he chased two men who tried to run away with the bag of 28-year-old woman in Barking, east London, Friday, Jan 8.
Sukhwinder's wife, parents and son reside in a village in Ludhiana district.
