Rana, Headley indicted for 26/11 Mumbai attacks
Washington, Jan 15: US terror suspects, Tahawwur Hussain Rana and David Coleman Headley, were indicted by the court here on charges of plotting 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008.
Headley had already been charged on Dec 7 in connection with the Mumbai attacks, but the 12-count superseding indictment also added Rana as an alleged conspirator in planning the bloody rampage.
Rana is charged on three counts of providing material support in preparation for and in carrying out the Mumbai attacks; providing material support to a terrorism plot in Denmark; and providing material support to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).
The US court also indicted Ilyas Kashmiri and Abdur Rehman Hashim Syed on conspiracy charges related to the Denmark plot.
Kashmiri, an alleged terror kingpin in Pakistan who is said to be in regular contact with Al-Qaeda leaders and Abdur Rehman is a retired major in the Pakistani military.
Both were charged in two conspiracy counts relating to the Denmark terrorism plot.
