New Delhi/ Jaipur, Jan 11 (ANI): The cold wave continues to disrupt normal life across north India and most parts of the region are experiencing chilly weather and foggy conditions on Monday.
The dense fog took its toll on transportation, making commuting precarious as the mercury plummeted in New Delhi.
"We had booked ticket for Amritsar. We are not travelling because train has been cancelled. Railways officials say that it has been cancelled because it arrived late," said Inder Malhotra, a passenger in New Delhi.
The situation looked gloomy in Rajasthan where fog and mist eclipsed the city life in the early hours. Vehicles could move only at snail's speed.
"For last four to five days, the region is experiencing biting cold. Everybody is suffering. The government should make arrangement for dry woods to ward off cold,"said Sitaram, a resident of Jaipur.
The office of the Meteorological Department has attributed the prevailing weather conditions to western disturbances that caused snowfall in the hill states and upper regions of Himalayas. (ANI)
