"We are upset and pained to be informed that an Infosys employee has been charged and remanded to judicial custody for child abuse", a company statement read.
Last week, Pallabh and his wife were arrested after Association for Promotion of Social Action rescued their teenage domestic.
The girl, hailing from West Bengal, alleged that the couple had tortured her. This proved to be a fact when 23 bruises were found all over her body.
"After being informed of this incident, Infosys immediately placed Pallabh Chakravarthy under suspension pending an internal investigation", the Infosys statement said.
"After the investigation, we will take appropriate action as per company rules.
"We would like to reiterate that compliance with laws and societal ethics is a very important part of Infosys. We will take appropriate action in this manner," the statement added.
