Soren to seek vote of confidence on Jan 7
Ranchi, Jan 7: Chief Minister Shibu Soren is set to take a vote of confidence in the Jharkhand Assembly on Thursday, Jan 7.
Pledging confidence Soren, who has the support of 46 MLAs in the 81-member assembly decided to take the floor test on Jan 7, though he was asked to do so on Jan 8.
"Yes, definitely I am confident of winning the confidence motion," said Soren.
On Dec 27, Governor K Sankaranarayanan invited Soren to form the government.
Soren was sworn in as the chief minister for the third time on Dec 30, 2009 and was asked to seek a vote of confidence on Jan 8, 2010.
JMM joined hands with NDA to form a coalition government after the fractured verdict of the Jharkhand assembly election.
Joining the 18 members are the 20 members from NDA, 5 from AJSU, 1 each from Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch, Rashtriya Kalyan Paksh and 1 Independent MLA Bidesh Singh.
