Rathore shouldn't be stripped of his medals: Gill
New Delhi, Jan 7: KPS Gill has backed former haryana DGP SPS Rathore, who is convicted for molesting a 14-year-old Ruchika Girhotra in 1990.
Gill, a former DGP of Punjab, has said that Rathore should not be stripped of his police medal following his conviction in the Ruchika molestation case.
Speaking to reporters, former DGP of Punjab, Gill said, "He (Rathore) certainly shouldn't be stripped of his medals. In other countries, this is done only if the officer commits treason or is involved in international criminal activities."
"The reports in the media represent only one side of the story. This isn't justice. A man is innocent unless proven guilty," he said.
Gill had been convicted for outraging the modesty of a senior IAS officer, but was let off with a fine.
