After Rathore, Punjab ex-DGP Gill may lose medals
New Delhi, Jan 5: After Ruchika's 'molester' SPS Rathore, former Punjab DGP KPS Gill may be stripped off his medals and awards.
As the Centre has made it clear that the police officers convicted with crimes should give up their awards, the Punjab police hero, who was convicted for misbehaving with IAS officer Rupan Deol Bajaj in 1996, may be forced to follow Rathore.
Gill, who is currently the president of Indian Hockey Federation, has been hailed and honoured for his efforts in fighting insurgency and terrorism.
With this kind of service of the nation, Gill being stripped off his awards has becomes a contentious issue.
In the wake of the nation's outrage against Rathore, who was convicted in the 1990 molestation case of 14-year-old Ruchika Girhotra, Gill too may face the wrath of the nation and may be forced to lose his medals.
