Toyota unveils new Prado Diesel in India
Bangalore, Dec 23: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) Pvt Ltd launched its new Prado diesel Landcruiser in India on Wednesday, Dec 23.
Speaking to reporters at the launch, Hiroshi Nagakawa, Managing Director TKM said, "We are looking at 10 per cent market share in SUV segment with the launch of the new diesel version."
Prado has sold over 1.56 million units in over 170 countries so far and that customer response in India since its launch in 2004 has exceeded expectations, Nagakawa added.
The new version of the car includes improvements such as 3.0 litre diesel engine, adoption of Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, 3 zone automatic climate control, multi-information display and DAC (Down-hill Assist Control) and VSC (Vehicle Stability Control).
"Our target audience is active businessmen, industrialists and socialities who want to make a style statement and are in the 35-45 year age group", Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director TKM said, adding that the company is looking at metro cities like Mumbai,Bangalore and Kochi for sales.
