Mumbai, Dec 22 (ANI): Various artists and technicians from the Indian film industry were felicitated with the prestigious V. Shantaram award here on Monday.
Actors, directors and technicians from Bollywood and the regional film industries became the recipients of the awards, instituted in the honour of legendary director, V. Shantaram.
Bollywood director Imtiaz Ali, who shot to fame with his film 'Jab We Met' and 'Love Aaj Kal', was awarded for his exemplary work.
"I think it's a huge thing to see V Shantaramji's and my name in the same plaque. So thanks a lot," said Ali.
Rani Mukherjee was also one of the recipients of the award. Rani got the award for her performance in the film 'Dil Bole Hadippa'.
"This feels great because getting an award, and V. Shantaram award, means a lot to me. Because we all know that we are the unfortunate ones who were not born in his era, didn't get an opportunity to work with him. But getting an award in his name, just to have his photograph on the award, and just to have his name, and to get an award... to be the recipient of the award, that means a lot to me," said Rani.
Legendary actress Sandhya, who acted in many of V Shantaram's films, was also felicitated at the awards function.
The V Shantaram awards provide a platform for films from all over the country to compete on the same stage, transcending language and regional barriers. (ANI)
