Dalit MPs to oppose Dinakaran's impeachment
New Delhi, Dec 19: Alleging that Chief Justice PD Dinakaran has been targeted because of being a Dalit, Dalit MPs from the Congress are planning to oppose the impeachment.
According to media reports, the Dalit MPs are bringing in Dalit members from other parties to voice their protest.
Party president is said to have been briefed about the MPs plan.
Earlier on Friday, Dec 18, congress MPs Praveen Rashtrapal and Congress MP JD Seelam created quite an uproar in the Rajya Sabha when they raised the issue of the Karnataka high court Chief Justice.
Dinakaran was impeached following an impeachment notice submitted by 75 MPs to the Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari on Dec 14.
