Lahore, Dec.17 (ANI) : Former Pakistan Test captain Javed Miandad has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to retain Mohammad Yousuf as the skipper of the national squad for a longer duration.
Impressed by Yousuf's performance as the captain of the team during the just concluded Test series against New Zealand, Miandad said he (Yousuf) must be given a longer run.
"The fact is that Yousuf accepted the responsibility of captaincy at a very difficult time for Pakistan cricket and the team didn't do that badly in New Zealand. The Board must look at the possibility of giving him a proper run as captain," The Daily Times quoted Miandad, as saying.
It may be noted that initially the PCB had appointed Yousuf for just the New Zealand series but retained him as the captain for the Test and one-day series in Australia as well following Younis Khan's unavailability. (ANI)
