New Delhi, Dec 17: A file relating to the investigation against a former RAW chief has been reported to be missing, according to CBI.
The incident came to light when an RTI application was filed by the former RAW official R K Yadav, seeking information on the action taken by CBI regarding the case of siphoning of secret funds of RAW against former RAW chief A K Verma .
"Matter regarding disproportionate assets allegedly acquired by A K Verma was not considered worthwhile to enquire since Verma had retired way back in 1990. However, the file is not traceable now," said the CBI in reply to the RTI.
In response to Yadav's appeal the agency has been directed by the special court to provide a status report.
"Mr Tamta, counsel for Yadav, states that at least status report can be sought from the CBI regarding complaints which had been made to them and he is not seeking directions to investigate. I allow his request," Special Judge Pradeep Chaddah said.
