Hobart, Dec 17(ANI): Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf reckons that his bowling attack can put the team into winning positions in the upcoming three-Test series against Australia.
Yousuf described his bowlers as the strength of the team after arriving in Hobart to play a three-day warm-up match against Tasmania starting on Saturday.
"Our bowlers are capable of taking 20 wickets, but we need to improve our batting and fielding," The Courier Mail quoted Yousuf, as saying.
"I think we've got good spinners, the best spinners in the world, and fast bowling also," he added.
Yousuf also said that leg-spinner Danish Kaneria, who took seven wickets in Pakistan's last Test match against New Zealand at Napier, will play an important part in some of the turning tracks which will be offered in Australia, while fast bowler Mohammad Sami's return will bolster the fast bowling department.
Sami will supplement the attack featuring Umar Gul, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamer and Abdur Rauf.
Meanwhile, Pakistan team manager Abdul Raqeeb said that Sami, who has been playing well in the domestic tournaments back home, will have a chance to revive his career during the series.
"Not only is he performing well, he is an experienced one, he has played a lot of Test cricket and we know it's a mental game also, it's not only talent that counts, it's experience also and he is a very experienced bowler," Raqeeb said.
"That's why the selectors along with the captain decided to call him up," he added. (ANI)
