London, Dec. 16 (ANI): Eighteen months after his 30.75-million pound move from Tottenham to Manchester United, Dmitar Berbatov says the huge fee is weighing heavily and United fans have yet to see him perform consistently at his best.
The Daily Express quoted Bulgaria international Berbatov, as saying: "Every person is different in coping with the pressure of the price tag. Every person thinks differently. For me, sometimes it is difficult because people expect so much of me."
"The fans have probably seen glimpses of my best goals, passes and games. I know you need to show that all the time and that's my main goal - in every game to show my best game," he added.
Berbatov says he ignores criticism of his languid style that has infuriated some fans because they believe he is not working hard enough for the team.
"I try not to pay attention to this because always you have people who will say white is black and black is white," he added.
"I read a book recently and the book started saying unless you have beauty and grace, you are powerless to win a heart. I like to play with beauty and grace. I like to do stuff like that." (ANI)
