Americans charged in Pak under anti-terrorism act
Islamabad, Dec 16: Five American Muslims, arrested on Dec 9 for allegedly links with terrorist groups have charged under anti-terrorism act in Pakistan.
"We will try them under the Anti-Terrorism Act and sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. We will soon reach the local people related to this network," said Usman Anwar
Waqar Hussain Khan, 22, Ahmed Abdullah Minni, 20, Ramy Zamzam, 22, Iman Hassan Yemer, 17, Omar Farooq, 24 and his father Khalid Farooq has been placed under 10 days physical remand.
The culprits were held in Sargodha in Punjab province and were brought to Chuhng Police Training Centre in Lahore under heavy security.
According to lawyer Tariq Asad, who appealed against the deportation of the Americans, Omar Farooq's mother has been missing from their Sargodha home for the last few days'
They were accused of using Facebook and YouTube to establish contacts with terrorist groups in Pakistan.
