US allows appointment of counsellors for arrested 'jihad' seekers
Washington, Dec.15 (ANI): The United States has allowed appointing counsellors for the five US origin terror suspects, who were arrested last week from Sargodha.
Speaking during a regular briefing here, US State Department spokesperson Ian Kelly said Washington is discussing the issues pertaining to arrested US nationals with top Pakistani officials.
Kelly refused to comment on the Lahore High Court's decision, which prevented the men from being deported to the US, The News reports.
It is still not clear that whether or not Washington has formally requested Islamabad for the deportation of five arrested Americans.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan has already clarified that it would deport the detained US terror suspects only after the authorities complete their investigations.
"We will first see which laws they have violated. Once our law enforcement authorities clear them, only then can we deport them," Interior Minister Rehman Malik had said. (ANI)
