Hyderabad, Dec 14 (ANI): Vijaywada Congress MP L Rajgopal, who has resigned in protest against the Centre's nod to initiate the process for the formation of the Telangana state, has been taken into police custody.
In a preventive measure, the police took Rajgopal into custody at Hyderabad airport.
The Vijaywada MP was supposed to sit on a hunger strike, even as the Andhra Congress unit was against his decision to sit on a fast unto death The Vijaywada MP had said on Sunday, "All 225 Congress MLAs will oppose the resolution in the assembly. Andhra will speak in one voice. Telangana means region of Telugu speaking people. We don't want to weaken the Telugu speaking states."
"Knit India, do not split India," he added. (ANI)
