A Q Khan was on CIA hit-list: Report
Lahore, Dec 12: A US security service Agency, Blackwater has confessed it was asked to eliminate defamed Pakistani scientist A Q Khan by the CIA, according to media report.
“Dr Khan"s inclusion in the target list would suggest that the assassination effort was broader than has previously been acknowledged," Blackwater"s founder, Erik Prince said, adding that the authorities in Washington had backed out.
Prince reportedly confirmed that Blackwater, currently known as Xe Worldwide Services, had assisted in CIA operations against suspected militants in Iraq and Afghanistan.
'Snatch and grab', named given to operation against suspected insurgents in Iran was conducted almost every night during 2004 and 2006.
The declaration by the Prince came weeks after the New York Times report in which several former Blackwater guards confessed to being part of the US operations in capturing and killing militants in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Dimissing the reports, Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Xe Services said that allegation was baseless.
“Blackwater was never under contract to participate in covert raids with CIA or Special Forces troops in Iraq, Afghanistan or anywhere else. Any allegation to the contrary by any news organization would be false," said Mark Corallo.
