Telangana on hold; bandh called in Andhra

Hyderabad, Dec 11: A day after the declaration of separate Telangana, the turmoil in Andhra Pradesh continues as the students associations and politicians join hands in protest.

It has been reported that a bandh has been called in Rayalseema and Coastal Andhra by students associations and politicians.

MPs of Rayalseema and Andhra region MPs are expected to meet Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Home Minister P Chidambaram.

Meanwhile, after the Thursday night, Dec 10 meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister K Rosaiah has said that the high command will take the final decision after meeting MPs from both the side.

Rosaiah said that action on Telangana issue will not be taken in haste.

Sonia Gandhi held a high-level meeting at her 10 Janpath residence, regarding the development on Telangana issue on Thursday, Dec 10, which was attended by cabinet ministers Pranab Mukherjee, A.K. Antony, P. Chidambaram and M. Veerappa Moily including political secretary Ahmed Patel.

TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao will be discharged from NIMS a few hours from now.
