Mumbai, Dec. 11 (ANI): At least eight schoolchildren were injured in Mumbai when two buses collided on the busy Palm Beach road on Friday morning.
The accident occurred when a bus of Delhi Public School (DPS) rammed into another school bus, and police is still investigating to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
"The DPS bus was on its way to school and another was coming from the opposite direction and the two met with an accident near ... in which eight children suffered minor injures and they have been rushed to MGM hospital. The accident occurred around 7.30 am and we are investigating the cause of the accident," said Rafiq Baghwan, sub inspector, NRI police station, Navi Mumbai.
The injured students were rushed to MGM hospital.
"Our bus was coming in speed and the other bus was coming from the opposite direction when suddenly the two buses collided and some children were injured in that," said Deesha Jain, a student of Delhi Public School.
Police would also investigate whether the buses were fit to ferry the students and whether they were abiding by the norms laid down by Road Transport authorities. (ANI)
