Bihar: Two drown as boat capsizes
Khagaria, Dec 11: At least two people were killed when a country boat carrying about 20 people capsized in Bihar's river Budhi Gandak on Friday, Dec 11.
Deputy superintendent of police Muralidhar Mishra has informed that five people have also been reported missing.
The boat sank due to strong wind while sailing to Borna from the other side of the river at Borna village in Khagaria district, Mishra informed adding that local divers have been sent to locate the missing persons.
Out of the twenty people on the boat, 12 people swam to safety.
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Ramvilas Paswan has reportedly demanded an ex-gratia payment of Rs10 lakh to the victims' kin.
