Wenger proud of his young team's attitude

By Super Admin

London, Dec 10(ANI): Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised his young team for a battling performance against Olympiakos.

Though Arsenal lost the match 1-0, the team set a new record as the youngest team in Champions League history.

With five teenagers in the side and an average age of just 21 years and 215 days, the Gunners dominated much of the match in Athens and were ultimately only undone by some poor finishing and a 47th-minute goal from Brazilian midfielder Leonardo.

"I'm proud of their attitude. They coped well mentally. I am disappointed we lost, but overall we played well. We were positive. We looked like a team which plays every week in this competition," The Sun quoted Wenger, as saying.

"Unfortunately we lacked a bit of composure in the final third. These young players play exactly like the first team. They represented the club very well," he added. (ANI)
