Melbourne, Dec.10 (ANI): Left-arm Pakistan speedster, Sohail Tanvir has joined Victoria Bushrangers for the forthcoming T20 domestic season in Australia replacing Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan.
Muralitharan was unavailable due to national commitments, making room for Tanvir to join West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo as Victoria's two foreign recruits, The News reports.
Tanvir said he is excited with the offer, and looking forward to the tournament beginning later this month.
"I'm very excited with the prospect of playing in front of a 'home' crowd at the great MCG, and representing Victoria in this strong competition," he said.
Bushrangers' coach Greg Shipperd termed Tanvir's inclusion in the side as a 'good addition' and hoped that the Pakistani pacer would provide the squad an edge during the T20 league.
The top two teams in the competition would qualify for the T20 Champions League. (ANI)
