Quality inputs from expert resource persons would help in meaningful and purposeful discussion. A film, 'SOS- Save Our Sholas' by Shekar Dattatri ' will also be screened.

World wide, conservation of biodiversity is a big challenge for Governments and Societies. The decline and extinction of species has been accelerating due to overexploitation, degradation and fragmentation of habitats.

Harmonizing the conflicting demands and resources requires engaging all stake holders particularly the poor people living in and around the wildlife reserves.

Media persons have to play significant role in facilitating this process of engagement by bringing facts before the people on various issues and articulating it to the people at large for building public opinion.

The workshop is an attempt by Ministry of Environment and Forests to help in this process. (ANI)
