New Delhi, Dec 7 (ANI): The Liberhan Commission's Report on the Babri Mosque demolition and the Action Taken Report (ATR) is being discussed in Parliament, and preliminary information reveals that the debate is all fire and brimstone.
Both the government and the opposition are determined to prove their points in the debate being held in the Lok Sabha.
Lok Sabha Speaker, Meira Kumar has said the discussion would be held under Rule 193, which does not entail voting.
The BJP and the Samajwadi Party have already raised the issue of former Prime Minister, PV Narasimha Rao being given a clean chit in the report. The BJP is also critical of the report's indicting former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Earlier, the Business Advisory Committee had decided that the discussion would be held on December 9 and 10, but it has been advanced by two days as the Hindi version of the report was tabled in the House on Thursday.
In view of this, a discussion on Naxalism and the Maoist violence, slated for Monday, has also been postponed. (ANI)
